Chromecast
Chromecast Write For Us – The Chromecast is a Google device that sends content from your mobile phone, tablet, laptop or PC to the TV to which you are connected. In simple words, the Chromecast projects any streaming content onto the screen of your choice. You can send from your smartphone that YouTube video you want to watch with your friends and/or family. Among the different services compatible with Google Chromecast we find Google Play, Netflix, HBO, YouTube, Spotify, Hulu and Pandora.
How to install Chromecast?
Its operation and installation are effortless. The device, which is a dongle, is similar to a USB skewer but with an HDMI connection and power outlet. Once connected to the TV, the device pairs with your home Wi-Fi and is ready to receive content.
Remember that, years ago, to try to send content to a TV, you had to connect a cable? With the Chromecast, there is no need for wires; its operation is similar to the Amazon Fire TV Stick.
Install Chromecast
To install Chromecast, you must follow these steps:
- Plug the Chromecast into the HDMI port on the back of your TV.
- Connect the USB port to power or to the TV itself. Remember that if you plug it into energy, you can use your Chromecast to turn your TV on or off.
- Download the Google Home application on your mobile phone, which will synchronize it with your WiFi.
After these, you have to press the sync button with the Chromecast, and you’re done. But is it compatible with all Android or Apple phones? And with a MAC? When the device’s power cord is connected and WiFi is set up, you can cast content from Android phones (version 4.0.3) and iPhones with an update 7.0 or higher.
How to cast content with Chromecast to the TV?
While installing and sending content is easy, it’s a bit more complicated to understand Chromecast’s function mechanism. Chromecast uses a technology based on the concepts of DLNA and Miracast, a protocol known as Google Cast.
This technology allows us to send and play content on the TV and is represented with an icon in the form of a rectangle. The Chromecast logo can be found in different places depending on the device of use:
From your laptop or PC: If you’re sending content from a webpage with a video, you can identify the Chromecast icon in the top right. If the content is from an app like HBO, Netflix, Prime Video, Disney Plus, or Pluto, the hero comes from the playback.
From your mobile phone: The Chromecast icon will automatically appear in the function bar when you play a video. Netflix, HBO and YouTube are platforms that are compatible with Google Chromecast.
From the tablet or iPod: The operation is similar to that of a laptop or PC. Simply find the icon and click to send the content to the TV.
This way, your mobile device becomes a remote control since you can advance, delay, change or pause the content you sent to the TV. You can also use Google Assistant to control it with your voice.
